Citric Acid Anhydrous C6H8O7 is a naturally occurring weak, organic acid found in many types of fruits - most commonly citrus fruits. It is a natural preservative and can be added to food producing an acidic or sour taste.

The product can also be used for various applications, including:

As a cleaning/chelating agent
De-scaler
Food Production (particularly in wine and drink manufacturing)
Cosmetic additive (commonly found in many chemical peel products)
Photography (most often to neutralise film developing solutions)
To make bath bombs

For all these applications you will need to do your own research into how to use citric acid. But is is commonly suggested as a natural ingredient for many homemade cleaning applications for those looking to move away from using chemicals in the home. eg by Nancy Birtwistle

Citric acid appears as a white/clear crystalline solid which easily dissolves in water.

WARNING:

Causes serious eye irritation.

May causes respiratory irritation.

Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.

Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Wear protective gloves/clothing/eye protection/face protection.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: get medical advice/attention.

Store in a cool dry place.
